Real Estate and Hiking....who'd have guessed?

Okay...Here it is...both at once!!! 2 firsts for me!

The 1st first is this blog! So often I've thought of some "what I believe to be" worthwhile interests to share but was afraid that I would sound foolish to those who read it. With much encouragement from one person in particular, my sister, Real Estate manager, mentor and  guardian angel,  Marie Episale...here it is...my 1st blog!

What I'd like to share is a short tale about my 2nd first (I know, it's an oxymoron). My 24 year old nephew has recently moved in to live with me and has let me know on almost a daily basis how much he loves to hike. After several weeks I finally caved. It was late on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday...GO GIANTS!  We drove a very short distance to Pyramid Mountain Park in Kinnelon, which by the way, my house is located on. Needless to say, I needed the push. We parked, picked up one of the maps and chose to follow the blue trail. Well, I have to say, I was exhilarated!  As a full-time Realtor with Century 21 Crest since 1987, I've had many tense and stressful times and I think I finally found away to escape.

The hike was awesome! We walked and climbed and breathed very heavily at times (well I did) for over 2 ½ hours. The views were beautiful and the rock formations mesmerizing.

I am hooked! I have since searched for more great places to go to and am amazed at how many unbelievable parks and waterfalls and caves etc. there are within just a ten mile radius of my home in North Jersey.

My next hiking adventure will be in the Wanaque area which is the town I grew up in and my Real Estate service area.

Please share any other great stress relievers or places of interest that you may know of.

Real Estate is awesome, sometimes exhilarating and often exhausting and so is hiking. I love them both!

Good job on both of your firsts!   Especially the hiking... That, I'm sure, was harder to do than writing the blog.  Good luck with your Wanaque Reserve listing also.
