The Issaquah Highlands

For the last week, I have been touring the Issaquah Highlands neighborhood, looking at homes and condos, eating at restaurants, and driving by all the parks and schools.

The Highlands are one of the first sustainable communities to be developed.  Every home is within walking distance to parks, trails, shops, and restaurants.  There are many places to park your bike, and a transit center is located very convieniently off a main road, so residents can take advantage of public transportation.

One thing I noticed is a ton of construction, and not just new houses getting built, but also lots of new businesses.  A trip into Blakely Hall showed me an interesting grid with the plans for all the new stores and restaurants.

The Issaquah Highlands also boast some of Washington's best schools, including:

I found this avant-garde home with a great view of Seattle and downtown Bellevue at the top of the neighborhood:

Overall, I find the Issaquah Highlands to be an exciting neighborhood.  There are a variety of homes for sale in the issaquah highlands.  I found condos in the low 100s, family homes in the 300s, and huge estates in the millions.  With all the new developments I would expect real estate prices to move up in the coming years.  If you are looking to settle down and raise a family, the Highlands have to be one of your top options.

Dan,

The Issaquah Highlands neighborhood sounds like a well planned and thoughtout area. I'm impressed that it's a sustainable community. The proximity to parks, trails, shops, restaurants, and public transportation is a great feature. Sounds like a wonderful and beautiful place to live for a wide variety of people.
