Thank You to My AR Friends (& Their Friends & Friends of Friends)!

This is a re-blog from Gail Robinson of Fairfield, Connecticut. I hope that her husband is comfortable and that Gail is keeping her spirits up. I thought that the outpouring of help from Gail's friends on our Active Rain community was very touching. It really shows what the power of friendship can do and how many warm and wonderful people are out there who really know how to open their hearts.

I am astounded by how fast the AR community came to the aid of myself and my husband between last evening and today to get BOA's attention on our dire situation with my loan modification rejection and threat to send a foreclosure summons while my husband is getting palliative care in our home for Stage IV pancreatic cancer.

As of 5:30 PM on 2/9/13 there have been 134 reblogs, 568 Facebook Likes, and 449 short URL clicks, which are most likely Tweets.  I have no way of knowing how many Google Plus shares there were.  I called AR's resident blogging guru, Debbie Gartner, to ask her how to find out how many reblogs my post had and she told me to click on the little green dots at the top of the post under the Reblog button.  I did that and a list dropped down of everyone who reblogged my post.  I wanted to share this with those of you who didn't know how to do this.

Now these statistics are just people who came to the original post. I don't think they reflect the friends of AR bloggers who reTweeted or Liked their friend's FB post.  We also have no idea how many there are on Google Plus (unless someone can tell me a way to look that up).  The point is that this is like throwing a pebble into a pond and the impact becomes larger as friends of friends of friends reblog.  Of course, at a certain point someone is likely to say who the heck is this person and why should I care and the ripple effect stops, but then again, some things go viral on the Internet.  However, one thing we know is that BOA sat up and took notice as I got two calls from them today and they are going to send my case to the Escalation Team.

How can I thank all of you?  I really appreciate what you have done from the bottom of my heart!  This is certainly AR in action and shows how much of a true community we are.  We may not be able to reach out and touch each other physically, but we certainly do touch one anothers hearts.

I will post updates on my progress with the loan modification.  You deserve to know what is happening and I'll keep you informed.  Thank you again to my AR family!

2/11/13 Update:

Thank you all!  I heard from BOA five times since you all sent out the word into the Internet ethers.  Three calls today alone and I now have one point of contact.  Thank you so much.  I haven't anything to report yet, except that this time it seems like my loan modification has been fast tracked for priority review.  I will report back as I know more.  I really appreciate the help of my AR friends.  I should know more by the end of the week.  I'll keep you informed.  Thank you so much!  This wouldn't have happened without your efforts.  I'm so grateful!

2/16/13 Update:

BOA told me my loan modification passed underwriting and is on its way to Fannie Mae for approval. It may be two weeks before I know more.  This wouldn't have been reopened without your reblogs, Tweets, Google Plus, and Facebook Posts.  Thank you so much!

2/25/13 Update:

Today a FedEx package arrived from BOA with all the documents to sign for a trial loan modification!  I need to talk to my HUD counselor, but it looks like they really did their best to get me the lowest payment possible.  I told my husband today and he was very relieved.  He's in the hospital right now fighting for his life with a massive infection (they don't know the source of the infection yet).  Tomorrow will be his birthday and it was three years ago tomorrow that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  This was a wonderful birthday gift.  Please keep him in your prayers for one miracle.  I would like him to return home and feel good enough to celebrate a belated birthday.  I don't want this to be the end, but I know it could be.  You've done so much for me my dear AR friends and I have no right to ask for one more favor, but if you could put him in your prayers for another miracle, I would be very grateful.  I love him so much and it's hard to believe that this could be the end.

3/19/13 Update:

My husband is still in the hospital. He has been fighting three massive infections and is still on IV antibiotics. We just celebrated our 8th anniversary yesterday (as much as you can celebrate under these conditions). Thank you for your prayers. He did indeed rally and I am hoping he is on the road to coming home, but it's still up and down. I made my first trial loan modification payment thanks to the power of ActiveRain. Thank you for helping us get this loan modification. We should know about the permanent one by July. I'll keep this post updated.

If you ever wonder about the power of ActiveRain, just take a look at these statistics...

162 reblogs by AR members, 797 Facebook Likes on the post, over 16,000 clicks on the post, and over 300 comments.  We are a community that cares about one another and that takes action!

Lisa, Thank you for your reblog.  I did receive the loan modification before my husband died, which was a great relief to him.  It was the AR community that made that happen.  There are so many good, caring people in this community.  You are one of them Lisa.  So glad you joined AR!
