Social Media Mistakes #2
Like it or not facebook is still king for social media. Look at the amount of users and how much time people spend on it. The other social media websites are still wishing they had close to the same market share.
So what is mistake number 2, flooding your personal facebook page with real estate info. Faceook wants business and REALTORS to use a business page. If facebook see business content on your personal page then they could shut down your page. As a REALTOR so much of our business life and personal lives are intertwined. We work lots of hours and even in social situation we get questions about real estate.
So what to do about social media?
If you are going to share lots of business content on facebook then set up a business page and invite all your friends. By signing up to be a fan of your business page they are allowing you to market to them. About a year and a half ago, during one of AR webinars, Chris Alston spoke about social media and how to best use it. He said a great formula was to make 3 personal posts between each business post. In addition to that, be subtle with your posts. Share posts such as Showing a friend a new listing today! Announcing the sale of a house..
So don't make the facebook mistake of being all business. Your friends will tune you out!
