Focus On Marketing...Stop Thinking About Money...Income Will Improve!!
Barbara offers some good advice here on the importance of marketing and building your business. I thought it was well-worth another round especially for newbies trying to decide what to do.
Never think about commission money!! Agents who focus on money and how many commissions are coming are wasting their energy. That energy and thought process must be used for "marketing."
Without marketing, we are at the end of that commission line. Without marketing you can Velcro your pockets because nothing new will fill them. Without marketing your real estate profession is stymied, and you’re riding for a hard fall.
This is a marketing game. The more proficient and creative your marketing methods, the more the phone will ring. Market properly, and the money will follow. Those agents who focus on their income and how much money they NEED to make will most likely not achieve what they expect.
Focus on becoming skilled with your marketing methods and the money will always be there. I’ve lived by this rule for the past 35 years and it’s never failed me, even during the toughest markets. Those who market best will make the most. Look around you and notice who makes the most. I would guess you’ll be noticing the agents who market consistently, creatively, enthusiastically and with energy that makes the phone ring. Think about that!!!
