A Must-Watch Television Program for First Time Home Buyers

By
Real Estate Agent

While recovering from a bout with Infectious Bacterial Bronchitis, I only had enough energy to drink some juice, respond to some emails and watch some television.

During last night's television watching session, I came across the fifth episode in Season 2 of My First Home on TLC. This was my first time hearing about the show.

(Side Note: Am I the only one that is always the last to know about things? Please let me know that I'm not the only one in that boat.) Anyway..........

Unlike some shows that depict the real estate process as seeing only three homes, making an offer on one and getting it to closing without issue, My First Home presents realistic home buying experiences.

From getting insight on the buyers' motivation, to home shopping and price negotiations, to waiting for the inspection results and closing escrow, the My First Home cameras follow real estate novices to record a realistic journal of the home buying experience for first time home buyers.

Please visit my blog and make comments after watching an episode of My First Home on TLC.

David: Sorry to hear about the bronchitis. My father just came down with bronchitis last week. As luck would have it I was there for a visit at the same time. Over a 48 hour period he got out of bed for maybe a total of 2 hours.

You apparently are not the last to know about the TLC First Time home buyers show. I must be. Because I have not heard of it nor seen it. I will have to look it up in the local listings so I can TIVO it.

Sorry to hear about your bronchitis, hope you're feeling better. We just saw My First Home last night for the first time as well and thought it was a good program. It reminded us of our first time homebuyers.

Hello, How does one get a chance to have a home featured or included in TLC's Date my Home?  I have a home, actually my deceased parent's home must be sold to pay off the mortgage.  It's been appraised at $402,000 but the condition of the house is turning off potential buyers.  I am having to make the mortgage payments on my own home as well as this one.  Can you help me? Thank you for this opportunity.  Best regards, Georgie Stone

Georgie:

This is one of those rare situations that would require some assistance outside my team. Unfortunately, I don't have any "TLC PULL" (TLC....If you are reading this....Georgie would like some help!)

If that plan doesn't work, let me make a more realistic recommendation that will give you better odds within a reasonable time frame.

Please give me an opportunity to put you in touch with a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) that has at least 60 transactions under her/his belt. UNDER NO OBLIGATION....They can come and speak with you about your situation. If you like their strategy and market plan, then you can discuss hiring them.

If you'd like to meet with a CRS, please send me an email with the address of the property. I'll get your permission to have someone contact you BEFORE THEY CALL YOU!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
