Magic in the forgotten marketing dollar...

Ok, so I am not the best when it comes to keeping track of where my marketing dollar goes.   I am an emotional purchaser of marketing stuff and ads.   Would love to be more calculating, more interested in demographic and just plain more concious of whether my advertising dollar is going to reap returns...but I am not there yet.   I am a "do gooder" by nature.   Non-profit, save the world social worker type who fell into real estate by accident and a high desire to decorate other peoples homes... Who knew I would be so successful...even tho I spend my money hap hazardly.   So I invested last year in a alumni magazine for my high School which is 70 miles from CApe Cod because the sales lady was persuasive.   They needed the money to put together a magazine that extolled the promise and excitement of the new addition of my old High School.   The multimillion dollar Theater and drama department is what got me ... I spent most of my High School years on stage and thought ....sure ...I will put in an ad... who cares.. this is a gift, I said to myself, consider this a donation, no chance I will get any business from this.   I am 42 years removed from Wachusett Regional High School.   I was so un invested in that magazine and that ad that I never even followed up.

This week... 3 listing appts from people who live 70 miles away and have summer homes on Cape Cod who, (omigod) remember me from high school!  Take a breath, how do they know me?   Which click were they in?   Who cares... just get the listing...right

So if you wonder if people read those silly alumni magazines... THEY DO!

its good to be reminded occassionally.  And yes, it is good to know where the magic is sometimes. In today's world, Magic is very welcome.  Have a great day.  Lu
