Did you know that everytime you influence another person to do a better job, you benefit that person and increase your value?  Clearly I'm speaking about a positive influence.  Someone once said that no one can really motivate anyone else;  all we can do is motivate ourselves and hope it catches on.  You will probably never know how much you influence others with your behavior.

When you always  go the extra mile, you will influence those in your circle of friends and acquaintances, your family, your co-workers, and ever your bosses to do more and better than they have done before.  Your value to yourself and others is greatly enhanced by your ability to influence others to be happier, more productive people.  There are no salary caps or career limits for those who lead others to great heights of success.  Such people are simply too valuable!

Sometimes this is as simple as just telling someone thank you and how much you really appreciate them.  For me, I like starting my day out this way.  It gets my blood pumping and energy flowing.  Team work!

Melissa....  some good points. I agree, that you can certainly influence others to be more positive and to work better. And if that was the case, that I would have received bonuses for this, I would have been a millionaire... ;o)

I totally agree with your post.  This is one of our roles as Christians.

It IS one of our duties as Christians, but how many do you see actually practicing it? To me, it is such a blessing to see a smile or a spark of joy in a person's eyes when you let them know they are appreciated. We go to a small contemporary church, and most of us there do something to serve. I try to make sure I tell those who serve what a good job they are doing. From those who clean the kitchen and toilets, to those who volunteer in the nursery, they are all giving of their time and energy, and that is so important. But it's more important for us to keep encouraging one another and keeping that positive attitude going.
