What Does Kathy Chieco and David Patterson Have In Common?

By
Real Estate Agent

While watching an episode of My First Home on TLC, I was introduced to John and Melanie Giller. They are a young couple that had relocated to Asheville, North Carolina from Michigan. At the beginning of the show, the Gillers were living in an apartment that didn't provided the serenity desired by someone that works the third shift.

Because of this living situation and John's ambitious nature, the couple was motivated to become first time home buyers.

Unfortunately, the narrator had to inform watchers about John and Melanie's challenge with finding a real estate agent that would give the young couple "the time of day". Though their loan officer gave them a $130,000 ceiling, John was committed to spending no more than $100,000.

‘...a lot of the real estate agents didn't take us seriously because of how much money we wanted to spend....' - Melanie Giller

Personally, I love working with first time home buyers in Columbia and Irmo, South Carolina. When I encounter someone with the same passion, I have to give them kudos.

Therefore, I am submitting my most recent THEM/THEM to recognize Kathy Chieco with CENTURY 21 Mountain Lifestyles in Weaverville, North Carolina.

Kathy really expressed sincere commitment and enjoyment with working with these first time home buyers. You must possess these qualities to be a great real estate agent for first time home buyers. This episode really did a good job of depicting the ups, downs, unknowns, blindsiding obstacles and frustrations that first time home buyers might face.

Though Kathy's length of time on this transaction was short, you might find yourself working with first time home buyers over a year to find them the right financial and real property fit.

Are you willing to commit with sincere enjoyment in helping first time home buyers deal with the home buying journey.........REGARDLESS OF SALES PRICE?

Kathy did. I have. Hopefully, you are too!

Great Job Kathy Chieco! Keep up the good work!

Greetings from the North Georgia Mountains!

Nice post, David...I applaud your willingness to work with what is typically an underserved demographic, the first-time home buyer.  How rewarding it must be, though, to help people on what is probably one of the happiest days of their lives--the day they close on their first house!  No other property, no matter how grand, can match the sheer joy of the first, nor hold as much promise.

Not to mention the fact that if done well, an agent can make a very nice living selling to first-time homebuyers!

David, I to love working with FTHBs. It usually is alot more gratifying to help a young couple/person who appreciates everything you do for them. Other buyers are grateful also, but it seems a little more personal with the first time buyers.
