Non Documented Workers Beware

We in the US  think that is only the Mexicans that come her to work without documents, but ti is not always true.  I just ran across this posting in one of the Baja Mexico English blogs:

Rumor has it: Due to the steady rise of construction & development in Todos Santos and Pescadero (Baja,MX), immigration officers will be investigating the many non-documented "gringo" workers in these towns starting in March. They will be inconspicuous, taking fotos, and collecting evidence.

My husband was once an illegal alien in Pescadero, Baja.  He picked in the fields- the locals said it was the first time a gringo had ever done it.  The pay was about the same as it is in the states. He was paid in cash under the table.

You don't need a license to sell real estate in Mexico, but you do need a visa to get paid.  If you do not have a visa, then someone else will be paying the taxes for you and your fee will be adjusted down to compensate for the difference.

Wow, great find!  I always get the question "Can I as a US Realtor legally sell property in Mexico?".

It will be interesting to see what the penalty will be for these undocumented gringos.
