Lois Lerner is the former director of exempt organizations and is the IRS agent charged with singling out the Tea Party groups. She was originally placed on paid leave. As of September 23rd she has taken early retirement. I’m sure this was done to keep her wonderful retirement benefits.
Frankly, the IRS singles out a group of taxpayers all the time. Is this any different then flagging tax returns with high charitable deductions? I see audits caused by high miscellaneous deductions often. One must remember that avoidance of taxes is their God given right but tax evasion is a crime. If you have unusually high deductions be sure to have the documents to back up your claim because you just may get a letter from your friendly tax service.
