We cracked the CODE on Adobe Lightroom 5 tonight.
My Monday night ACE technology partner in crime wrote it down quickly lest we forgot by next Monday night.
Here's a Cheat Sheet, Cliff Notes or Down to Basics Skinny of what we figured out.
Saved for Posterity....
Adobe Lightroom 5 – to import photos from hard drive and edit in Adobe Lightroom
Open Adobe Lightroom 5
Open the Develop tab (2nd tab)
File, Import Photos and Video
Navigate to the location of files in MY PICTURES (not in the Library)
Use the bar on the far left to move up/down the directory to find your photos
Open folder where photos are located.
In Adobe Lightroom either click Select All at the bottom or shift/CTRL-Click to select individual photos.
Once all the photos you want to work are are checked, seletIMPORT (bottom right button)
Ready to edit photos now
Double click on first photo in the filmstrip at the bottom. Begin applying edits/colors/saturations, etc.
To toggle between the before and after (edited) versions click the backslash key “\”
You will see the word “Before” when you are on the original
If you want to undo the edits you’ve made click on the RESET button on the right bottom of the screen
After you’ve edited all the photos you are ready to IMPORT the final photos back to their original directory
To export photos:
CTRL A (at the filmstrip)
File, Export
It will default to all previous settings you used the last time you worked in Lightroom such as
Yes to keeping the photos in the original folder
And yes to creating a subfolder in that original folder called CDR GR AL5
Once the export is completed, navigate to the original location and verify the new edited files are there.
Hey, bookmark this, highlight this, SAVE this! Your photos will demonstrate you cracked the code right along with us!
