These are the halloween gourds I purchased years ago.

Handmade Holiday Decor, Compliments of Nature

Several years ago I was shopping with friends in Old Town Manassas.  We browsed through a gift shop and the most interesting Halloween decorations caught my eye.  They were gourds, carved out and decorated in various shapes.  I ended up buying three of them and still have them.  You can't see it very well in this picture to the right, but they have a very warm, orange colored glow inside.

As I was putting them away at the beginning of November, I happened to notice a website for the company that made them.  All these years and I had never even noticed that.  That night, I was on the couch surfing away.  They make gourds for all kinds of occasions.

With Christmas coming up, I was really interested in their winter gourds.  I made a few purchases, one for myself and a couple for gifts.  Here's the Frosty we now have sitting in our living room:

Not only are they handmade, but they are made in the USA.

If you're looking for something neat for the holidays for you, or a friend, check out Meadowbrooke Gourds.  They have a lot of selection and some really neat gifts.

Chris Ann: What a cute snow man gourd! That is so clever, and it looks like the LAST. What a great present that would make.

Gourds are unique in their size and shape so every gift would literally be "one of a kind".   Interesting gift idea, indeed.

Chris Ann, your snowman is soooo cute. Can't wait to go check out the site. Do you have candles in them or are the electric?

Jared:  She'll love it.

Connie:  Electric.  There's an orange colored night light size bulb on a cord that you secure in the back of him.

Suzanne:  I haven't gotten into Pinterest.  I may have to start.
