Are you a foodie? If so, the Hendersonville area is a great place for good local buys. Here are all of the places to find what you need.

Tailgate Markets

Farm Fresh EggsWe have an incredible amount of local produce, from early spring until late fall. You can find local stands all over, but here are a few in town that are a great start.

The Hendersonville Curb Market has produce as well as crafts and baked goods. Located at 221 North Church Street, they are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 2pm (closed on Thursday's from January to March). In the spring they have a great collection of plants on sale, from veggie starters to flowers and shrubs.

Henderson County Tailgate Market is located at 100 North King Street, in the City Water Department parking lot, on Saturday's fro 7am until noon. Here you will find starter plants, fresh local produce and baked goods from Spring to fall.

The Flat Rock Tailgate Market is located behind Rainbow Row on Highway 225 in The Village of Flat Rock. They are open from 3 to 6pm on Thursday evenings.

The Mills River Tailgate Market is located at 5046 Boylson Highway in the G & B Energy Plaza. They are open from 8am until noon on Saturday's spring to fall.

Along with these tailgate markets, you will find dozens of roadside stands in any direction you go. Loaded with local and fresh apples and produce all summer long.

The Hendersonville Coop is located at 715 South Grove, where you can purchase organic produce and bulk products like rice, beans and grains.

Fresh Market supplies the community with fresh produce, and health oriented products.

Feelin' Great, located at 825 Spartanburg Highway is a great place for vitamins and other health products.

Interested in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)?

Deerwood Nursery and and Farms and Blue Meadow Farms provide produce grown on their farms. They provide foods that are in season with no middle man. Both of these sites explain their process.

Apples Apples Apples in Henderson County

Henderson County ApplesDid you know that Henderson County is 7th in the Nation for the Apple Production? There are about 200 growers covering 5000 acres of Orchards. There are too many apple varieties to count, but include varieties such as Pink Lady, Gala and Honey Crisp. Besides roadside stands, you will find apple stands speckling the county. You would be hard pressed to find a bad place to eat in downtown Hendersonville. There are a great collection of Local Entrepreneurs serving up unique local cuisine.
