Beautiful Beaufort
Beautiful Beaufort, what a gorgeous old place,
Overflowing with history, blessed with such grace.
It’s been 300 years, since the white man has named,
Dearly treasured by natives, long before they came.
Endless rivers and marshes, lined with oyster beds,
Becoming one with the waters, simply frees your head.
It’s been known as the Lowcountry, of South Carolina,
No better place in the world, just couldn’t be any finer!
Century old mossed Live Oaks, shades our pale face,
When the summer sun shines down, all over the place.
Mosquitos and Sand Gnats, we love them, it’s true,
Without them we’d be crowded, and we’d be blue.
Whitetails and gators and ospreys and doves,
Makes our world better, and so truly loved.
Blue crabs and bass and flounder and trout,
Makes our southern bellies, so full and so stout.
Just a small rhyme, about my very special home,
I will always come back to, from wherever I roam.
