One day these youngsters will look back fondly at their first ever stage appearance on the city of Murphy Amphitheatre remembering a day when they had that stage all to themselves. It won't be happening again anytime soon though. Especially not after the huge success of last Friday night's performance. Families all over Murphy came out to enjoy the Sounds of Sundown. They brought along with them chairs, blankets and coolers filled with picnic goodies. Others relished the offerings of local vendors such as Chick Fil-A or Mel's grill. Some brought along their favorite pizza. And the children were all-aglow with the light sticks after the sunset while everyone enjoyed the sounds of the band a Hard Night's Day.
Hard Night's Day is a local favorite that plays a tribute to the Beatles and is known to travel nationally. They have been singing the sounds of the Beatles for 20 years. I was delighted for 2 hours to enjoy some of my favorite Beatles under the stars with a full moon. If you missed out on Friday's performance do not dismay.
During the month of June the city of Murphy will be hosting free concerts on Friday nights at the Amphitheatre. For more details on the event click on the Sounds of Summer above. As for me I am really looking forward to next Friday night with Emerald City Band. They have been a Dallas favorite since 1983 although they have played all over the world. To their credit they have performed twice at the Congressional Christmas Ball held at White House for President George W Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.
