What's Happening at the Flat Rock Playhouse?

We are very lucky here in Hendersonville to have access to great theater. The area has enjoyed Flat Rock Playhouse for 60 years! The playhouse has become very well known around the country and has attracted some very good actors. With it's humble beginnings in 1937, and moving from location to location, it had struggles. But those who were there in the early days persevered and in 1952 they came to purchase the land that has been the home to the Theater ever since. In 1961, by a Act of the North Carolina General Assembly, Flat Rock Playhouse was officially designated The State Theater of North Carolina. What began as a few weeks of summer performances in 1940 is now an eight month season of plays including Broadway musicals, comedy, drama, and theater for young audiences.

Currently My Fair Lady is playing through July 13th at the Flat Rock Location. Come by early and take a walk through the beautiful gardens that have been created and maintained by the Henderson County Master Gardeners over the years. Right now is a great time to see the flower show as well as the plays!
