Calm Down...it's just real estate!

Have you ever been at a closing and all of the sudden, you feel like you are in the middle of a three ring circus?  Sometimes, closings can turn out to be full of anger and heated arguments in which professionals end up raising their voices.  We are not engaging in battle, we are selling a home!  Don't get me wrong, I am passionate about my job and I love real estate.  I do realize that there are issues that come up that need to be resolved.  But, as the saying goes, "You can get more flies with honey than vinegar".

All parties involved, however angry or passionate about their argument they may be, should take a few deep breaths before they start yelling.  These are people that you will most likely be doing business with in the future and I am sure that you do not want to remembered as the (fill in the blank with Realtor, attorney, buyer or seller) that lost their cool at the closing table.

So, the next time you are at the closing table and you feel that you are being taken advantage of, CALM DOWN, count to ten and think of a way to express yourself in a professional manner that will lead to the result that you want.

Great post Sarah,

I have seen it all at closings and it never goes well when somone starts yelling.  We all need to step back and take a breath.
