This is an oft quoted Scripture passage that is either ignored or misunderstood by many of us...!!!
I find that many are reluctant today to endeavor seemingly difficult tasks for FEAR OF FAILING...
The old adage, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, as enunciated all too frequently by the GOOD NUNS THAT TAUGHT MANY OF US, seems to have fallen by the wayside, and I feel, chiefly because of fear...FEAR OF FAILURE............’TRIAL AND ERROR’ has also become passe...
As humans, we are all created to grow in God’s Grace, and who more than our Creator understands our fragilities and imperfections, and is ready and able to overlook them and forgive them...IF you want to observe REAL CREATIVITY...WATCH A YOUNG CHILD as they use many basic and newly developed skills to achieve the art of crawling and eventually LEARN TO WALK...
ALL THAT GOD EXPECTS OF US IS THAT WE TRY.......and sometimes that we TRY AND TRY HARDER...
If we live our lives always attempting to avoid failure rather than launching into the deep, we will inevitably be missing out on many of life’s joys...
YES...we should always STRIVE FOR PERFECTION...BUT...NEVER BE AFRAID to ‘LAUGH AT YOURSELF’...GOD DOES HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR...!!!
THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT WE TRY...!!!
I often refer to myself as a ‘PRACTICING CATHOLIC’...which really implies that I haven’t yet BECOME PERFECT, but in humility, and HOPEFULLY IN JOY, I’M STILL TRYING...!!!
