What this FREE event has to offer you and your family:
Learn about the disaster response work of Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).
Register at the Red Cross Shelter inside the Stake Center. Experience taking refuge in a public shelter. Complete the in-take process, claim your cot, blanket, hygiene kit and snack. After a disaster we'd all like to remain home, but it's not always possible or safe to do.
Attend the Key Note Address -- 11:00-12:30 -- presented by a panel of VOAD Partners:
Shop the vendors at the Academy; they'll be ready to show, tell and sell their wares.
Attend classes offered throughout the day. Get information your family can use now and in disaster.
Bring the kids for safe, fun activities in the Kids Zone.
See the amazing disaster response vehicles of the VOAD Partners and talk with volunteers who go on a moment's notice where they are needed to deliver disaster relief. UPD & UFA will be there from 1 - 3 pm.
Get acquainted with the Canyon Rim Emergency Cache. It's here to help our community respond. We rely on the generosity of our community. Your tax deductible donation can make a difference.
Taste food samples made with ingredients in your pantry. Take home the recipes. Ever wonder what powdered butter tastes like? How about powdered cheese? Come find out!
