This is the time of year we sit back and give thanks for the blessings we have received. Currently, I am a member of the Westfield Area Y Men's Club and proudly serve as a board member. Every year, we host a Christmas Tree lot at Elm St Field, between Orchard and Walnut, to raise money for our philanthropic endeavors throughout the year. The tree sale has become an annual tradition between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Right now, we need need volunteers to help man the Christmas tree lot and we are asking the Westfield community for assistance. You can help us by joining the Westfield Area Y Men's Club.
When you are a member of the Westfield Area Y Men's Club, you cultivate relationships with other members of the community...both individually and through businesses/organizations. You will also get to help make life in Westfield more enjoyable for literally thousands of people. Best of all, the people you meet through the club become life-long friends.
Since 1953, the Westfield Area Y Men's Club has believed in giving back to the community. Throughout the years, we have managed to raise more than $2 million that has been disbursed in charitable grants. This has all been done primarily through the annual sales of trees, stands and wreaths at the Christmas tree lot.
Right now, Westfield Y Christmas Tree volunteers are needed. The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The first meeting is always held at the Westfield YMCA while the second meeting takes place at a local restaurant. If you would like to become a member of a fantastic organization that helps out the youth in our Westfield community and supports charitable organizations, please contact Brian Duggan at (908) 232-6930 or via email.
