Every other day on average I have been posting things on one of my Facebook Pages offering things to do in Delaware County PA. This Page was created as a result of a webinar I listened to here on AR with Bob Stewart roughly four years ago. That particular webinar gave an example of Pages in other parts of the country where the title catch phrase was "365 Things To Do In.....". Inspired by this webinar I made my Facebook Page "365 Things To Do In Delaware County PA".
Yes this Page has many fun events and things to do as the title implies but this Page I believe is also making a difference for others in need. I share posts from other local Pages, articles and websites for such things as: local people seeking help with finding a lost person or a lost pet; posts from a kind soul hoping to reunite a frightened lost animal with their owner; posts asking for donations to local organizations like firehouses or local charities like food banks; posts asking people to volunteer their time, money or supplies to local events/causes such as a fund raiser to defray medical bills for a person who is seriously ill. In addition to the things I find and share, other people post on the wall of this page with similar requests or notices.
What usually happens with these requests for help is, others will share these posts helping to get the word out to a wider group of people for there are now 6,000 likes on this Page. I do get feedback from people saying they reference this Page and are grateful when I share their requests.
365 Things To Do In Delaware County PA is not a place to post real estate events or sales unless it has an impact on local communities at large in the county.
As long as Facebook allows this format I will continue to use this Page to help others by sharing things to do and ways to help others in need in Delaware County PA. ----Gloria
