Mentoring Opportunity for Men in Katy TX
The KEYS program needs men to mentor boys as many boys all around the Katy area are in need of a mentor. On Friday January 30,2015 a Men Who Mentor Breakfast will be held at the Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) Education Support Complex. The Education Support Complex is located at 6301 Stadium Ln. Katy TX. The breakfast starts at 7:30AM and lasts until 9 AM.
Here is a fantastic way to pay it forward in Katy TX. This annual breakfast will provide information for men who are interested in becoming a mentor to boys who are in need and provide support for those already in this program. Two current mentors along with students will share with attendees their experiences in the KEYS program. Faculty liaisons and administrators will lead table discussions so all can learn about this fine program and create networking opportunities among the participants. .
The KEYS program is a mentoring program the Katy ISD District maintains. Here is a summary of the program I found on their web site:
KEYS mentors are adults with knowledge and experience to share, who have the desire to motivate students to reach their full potential. They commit to one student for up to one hour per week during the school day, during the school year. During those weekly visits mentors and students engage in a variety of activities -- and although they may help with academics, mentors are not tutors.
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, then seriously consider attending this breakfast and get involved as a mentor to boys in need of guidance.
