The Plaza at Tysons Corner Center Provides Refreshing Outdoor Space
If you are looking for a break from all that shopping at Tysons Corner, check out the newly opened Plaza at Tysons Corner Center, which opened in July 2014. The plaza is located on the second floor next to Lord and Taylor on the north side of the mall. It also provides a connection to the Silver Line Tysons Corner Metro Station.
This refreshing outdoor space has several permanent attractions and is continually adding several events thoughout the year. There is a kids play area to burn off any extra energy, an eating area, a giant outdoor chess board, and open space for various outdoor events. In the summertime, there are free movies and concerts on the plaza. In the wintertime, the space converts to an outdoor ice skating rink. In 2015, the Plaza also plans to open a Farmers Market as well. It will be exciting to see what other events and activities Tysons Corner Galleria will bring to this new space. This is a great alternative to Reston Town Center or the Mosaic District, which are other outdoor entertainment and activity spaces in the Northern Virginia area.
