We Visited Pere Lachaise Cemetery Paris where Jim Morrison (Doors) is Buried
One of the most famous grave yards in the world is in Paris France being the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Lead singer Jim Morrison of the Doors is buried there plus obviously many other people. We were able to find his tombstone during our recent trip but it was not an easy find. I have heard and read on numerous occasions large crowds of people still visit his burial spot. Since the day Jim was buried here it’s been a heavily visited site with many folks leaving flowers and other stuff. Numerous famous and/or wealthy French people are also buried in this cemetery. I took some pictures of his site and some other pictures.

Above picture is not Pere Lachaise .. I know duh!!
Jim Morrison’s burial plot is blocked off by a fence. I understand there has been complaints from other families with loved ones buried in this cemetery about vandalism and crowds all trying to see Jim Morrison burial plot. I think it's become sort of a thing to do for some folks. I believe it is very remarkable even to this day so many folks visit his gravesite as he died on July 3, 1971! We saw one man standing there looking at the site and he appeared to be fixated with the whole experience.
I was more curious than anything else why some folks want to visit Jim Morrison’s burial site. We had learned from a visit to another famous Cemetery, Pere Lachaise Cemetery was also a place to visit while in Paris. Both places are different from what we are use to here in the USA regarding cemeteries. Possibily I will get some folks to visit my blog who follow Jim Morrison and the Doors!
I liked certain songs by the Doors but I was never a big fan. I did find a Youtube video of Jim Morrison singing one of their hit songs and I hope you enjoy it.
