What's the Weather like in Southeast Oklahoma, Judi?

weather southeast oklahomaDoes it get cold in Southeast Oklahoma?  Do you have lots of tornadoes?  Does it snow in McCurtain County?

To be honest, I've never been trained as a weatherman or weather person and really don't worry much about the weather except to know if I need to grab a jacket on the way out the door.  OR maybe an umbrella.

AND "cold", "hot", etc are very subjective terms.  The humidity may be  uncomfortable to one person but feels great to someone else..

BUT facts and stats don't lie.  The best thing is to check weather sites to get average temperatures, precipitation, and/or any other statistics that are important to you in terms of the weather.

I don't consider our winters cold.. they are mild to me.  Maybe that's because I've had a good dose of COLD winters in Wyoming and Colorado.  Believe me when I tell you that Southeast Oklahoma winters are nowhere near to winters there.

Here's a simple graph for you with average temperature and rainfall for Idabel, Oklahoma.. the small town that I call home in Southeast Oklahoma.   If this weather looks like a place that you'd like to call home, look our listings over at Integrity Real Estate Services and then give me  call at 580-212-5946 and let's find you a home here!

Sign me up....sounds good to me.  Our weather is our weather, but I am not a big fan for about 180 days of the year.  Your weather looks a lot better to me!

Hi Judi, That is a terrific graph for average temps in your area. It sure does seem mild compared to the temps back in the midwest and northeast. Of course we are having those high 70 degree days and cool nights in the 50's.

I get asked about rain here on the Oregon coast.  I tell them "as long as I am on the inside looking out, I'm fine"!

Here in Florida I know the definition of humidity.  If my hair were like it is in Vega,s because it is so dry, I would never have a bad hair day.  Good thing you have adapted well.  Nice chart for information.

Cold is definitely relative depending on what you are used to.  I think our winters are pretty mild, but my mother-in-law in Florida thinks it's freezing.
