One of the enjoyable things about living in Boerne, Texas are the trails that wind around and through the city for all to use.  In a past blog, we visited the the Old no. 9 Railroad Trail.  Today, we will take a stroll down Boerne's Cibolo Trail.

Approximatly 1.75 miles in length, Cibolo Trail begins at the Waterworks Terrace trail head located behind Boerne's Main Plaza.

Parking at this location is readily available most time during the week. However weekend events, such as Boerne Market Days, tend to restrict parking access at this Waterworks Terrace trail head.

From here, the trail extends to  the City Park trail head located at the Municipal Pool entrance, also with paved parking available. As a bonus, there is easy access to the Cibolo Nature Center trails from the City Park trail head.

This trail's beauty is accentuated by its winding course along the banks of Cibolo Creek.

The trail gives users access to the historic downtown Boerne and it's famed Hill Country Mile.  An abundance of ducks and geese populate the tree lined creek bank along the trail and provide a picturesque and entertaining atmosphere.

The Cibolo Trail boast amenities including, paved parking at each trail head, water fountains, picnic tables, doggie litter bags, and interpretive signage.

The Cibolo Trail is one of the many reasons to consider making Boerne the ideal place to raise your family and enjoy the beauty of the Texas hill country.
