Paws in the Park has become one of my favorite Pearland events! I look forward to it each year and have marked my calendar for this weekend! This year's Paws in the Park is being coordinated by Pup Squad Animal Rescue. This organization rescues puppies and nursing litters from the streets, shelters and other situations and helps to place them in forever homes. They also take in adult dogs when necessary. My assistant Nicole adopted an adult lab mix from them last summer.
Paws in the Park will be held at Independence Park. Attendance and on-site parking are both free! The event kicks off with a Fun Run on Saturday, March 28th. Visit the Pup Squad Web-site for exact time of the Fun Run and to register on-line. The HEB Plus! Pet and Owner Fun Run is open to everyone. There are distances of 1K, 3K, and 5K. Registration begins at 8:00 and the fun run begins at 10:00am.
After the fun run you can catch the popular Dock Diving events! Apparently Dock Diving is a huge event now and pets and their owners travel around the country to compete in these events. There will be several amazing demonstrations of the skills of these amazing dogs!
There are generally plenty of exhibitors displaying their pet merchandise or pet adoption agencies. Come out and see for yourself! This event will be held from 10am-4pm on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. Remember this event is FREE!
