Victoria & Marshall Henderson - great information about Radon - as much as I need to share with my clients! This is very important for buyers!

Great information regarding radon. It is something that is a serious health concern.  Unfortunately, the government dropped the ball and never adopted an action level for radon in the water.  States vary widely and it is very confusing for the public.

Radon is a concern to many a buyer. I find it interesting that, although the government provides a standard to be followed, i.e. >4.0 Pico curries, the EPA only "reconmmeds" mitigation. There are no laws requiring mitigation. A Pico Currie is 1/1018th of an ounce of radon gas.

Thanks Praful Thakkar, you're right-home buyers do not to consider radon when buying a home.

Joan Whitebook & Doug Dawes- the government is so clear on other health concerns but vague on radon and what is "acceptable". And Doug, we think it's interesting too. recommending mitigation is meaningless. Sends a mixed message to the public. Thank you for your input.

Hello Victoria and Marshall - Praful Thakkar's reblog brought me here today.  As I commented on his post - radon testing is not typically a part of a real estate transaction in my market but I have received questions primarily from relocating buyers.

I've bookmarked your excellent "interview" to share the information the next time I am asked.
