Is food Safety a concern of yours?  If it isnt, then checkout the below post by Yolanda Gilbert...It is amazing to me that there is such a blatant disregard to food and water safety in this country.  Please stop by and post  comment on Yolsnds Gilberty's Blog: What’s in your wine?

Please note as far as I know the above wine is not on the list just a California Wine.

A class action law suit was filed Thursday against some of the top winemakers in the US. The lawsuit claims that there are very high levels of arsenic in some of the wines, up to 5 times the level that is allowed in our drinking water.

There were 2 independent studies conducted and both came out with the basically the same results. One article 3 claims there seems to be a pattern the cheaper the wine the more arsenic. Two of the highest arsenic levels were found in Trader Joe’s 2 Buck White Zinfandel which contained 3 times the legal limit and Franzia Blush and White Grenache which had 5 times the limit; also on the list was Menage a Trois Moscato which had 4 times the legal limit of drinking water.

Arsenic is as bad for you as cigarette smoke and over time will kill you, many times in the form of cancer. The filer of the lawsuit wants California Wineries to “clean up the industry” and return money to the consumers. CBS news did an independent study and found similar results. This is a developing story and should be interesting to follow especially if you are a wine lover like me.

We were just talking about this last night.  We drink very little wine...3-4 ounce glass maybe 2 times a week.  But for those more into it...it could be an issue.

If this hits the headlines on Fox, Huffington, NPR, Drudge etc.  it will be lethal to the wine industry - and it should be.
