Green Up Vermont Day is Saturday May 2, 2015. This 45th annual event is a day for Vermonters to work together in stewardship of our state's beautiful landscape and waterways by cleaning litter from our environment. While I must say, I rarely see litter, unfortunately, it does exist.
To participate, contact your town hall to receive recyclable litter bags or use your own. Check with your town coordinator for drop off locations.
Students from Montpelier High School are erecting a wire dinosaur to eat the trash. The dinosaur will be available to eat trash from May 5th - 8th and will be on display from May 9th - 16th at the state house lawn in Montpelier. This is the idea of world reknown recycled art artist Maria Koijck who has made many art pieces from recycled items to help raise awareness. See below photos for some of the projects she has undertaken.
This year's poster was designe by 11th grader Chloe Boyce of Montpelier High School.
