I guess we’ve all heard of and most of us have donated to ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND at one time or another...BUT...
The Lord has a LEMON AID STAND as well...!!! AND THE LORD MAKES 'HOUSE CALLS'...!!!
We’ve all heard the oft quoted Scripture passage: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Rev. 3:20-22 RSV
Let us examine those words carefully:
Of course, these are the words of Saint John, quoting The Lord as he received them in a vision.
Although, nowhere in Scripture do we read the word, TRINITY, here we clearly see an example of THE TRINITY: FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT.
As we get closer, we see the invitations to HEAR THE LORD, SIT WITH THE LORD, EAT WITH THE LORD, AND CONQUER WITH THE LORD.
Going deeper, we see that it is THE LORD who makes the first move...We might call this AMAZING GRACE...HE comes to OUR DOOR, invites us to open it and let HIM in.
AND SO, THE LORD’S LEMON AID STAND COMES TO US...He seeks after us much like he searched for the LOST SHEEP...HE TRULY IS THE GOOD SHEPHERD...!!!
I don’t know about you, but this gives me RENEWED HOPE...especially in a world that seems so topsy turvy and ‘MESSED UP’...!!!
Join with me in answering THE LORD’S INVITATION...day by day...moment by moment...step by step...In everything we say, all that we do, and all that we are...TRUSTING HIM TO MEET ALL OUR NEEDS...!!!
