What Does Dad Really Want for Father’s Day?

We are halfway through June, so that can only mean one thing – it’s time to celebrate Dad! The stores are stacked with BBQ utensils and beer mugs. But what do you get the guy who already has everything? How to do you say “Thanks for being awesome!” with a gift from the store? This year, that’s just not going to cut it. There are plenty of fun ways that you can make Father’s Day extra special.

Get him a “new” car. Ok, you don’t have to actually get him a new car, but you could get his detailed. Borrow his ride for the day and take it to one of the local professionals who can really make it shine. Dad will think of you every time he gets a whiff of that new car smell. It’s a simple luxury that your dad might forgo on his own but would really appreciate if it was done for him.

Plan an outdoor adventure. What does your dad enjoy most about the great outdoors? Maybe he’s an avid hiker or loves hitting the golf course in his spare time. Perhaps he needs an excuse to blow the dust of his tackle box for an early morning fishing trip. Let Dad decide, and make sure it happens. Sometimes the most special days are the simplest. Don’t forget to take pictures so the memories last a lifetime.

Roll up your sleeves. Has your dad been hinting about a few home renovation projects that he would love to start (or finish)? Maybe he just needs some helping hands. Set some time aside on Father’s Day weekend to help out the guy who has helped you with nearly everything. Build a fence or fix the deck. Give dad a good reason to knock a few items off his to-do list.

BBQ your way to his heart. What dad doesn’t love a good meal off the grill? It’s the perfect time of year to visit your local butcher and put together a menu worth remembering. You can even let him help out if he insists. Father’s Day is all about saying “thank you” to one of the most important people in your life, and making more special memories with those who matter most.
