WHY are you in the real estate business? Great question from the RE/MAX retreat this weekend for Chairman/Titan/Diamond.
 
Mel Robbins had a great presentation on focus and this came up. Everyone has a different answer, but we often don't think about it. For me, I enjoy having an impact that few people can have, and knowing hat when it hits the fan, I can really make an impact. When writing that out, it occurred to me that's why I'd rather deal with first time homebuyers than $1 million buyers, as I enjoy the impact more than anything else.
 
For others, it may be a completely different reason (there are limitless reasons). But remembering why you are in the business comes in handy when times are challenging, as it's usually challenging because we are doing things not aligned with our WHY.

I love asking everyone for their 'why' when they begin in this industry, most of them don't know. Mine changes over time, but the key things remain the same. Flexibility and no ceiling have always been the main reason. Over the past 3 years I have focused on leaving a legacy on the community and through my industry by projects and deals I'm involved in.
