Chambers MansionThe Chambers Mansion, c. 1894, is a glorious example of the Victorian Queen Anne style. Built by Miss Marion Clark on 16 acres running down to the Delaware River, it was on the trolley line from Wilmington to Downingtown PA. With a wrap-around porch, 2 turrets, 2 balconies and a widow's walk on the roof, the home has 2 parlors, a library with oak paneling. There are also ceiling medallions and plaster crown molding, as well as a side entrance leading to a porte cochere. The large corner lot is professionally landscaped with a fountain in the front and a waterfall, stone patio, and deck in the back. A full description of this charming Historic Home is attached.

Another great Historic Home from Carolyn Roland, Your Historic Homes Resource in Delaware and Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Wow! They sure don't make them like they used too! Looks like an excellent value (are the property taxes really that low?) Here's to a speedy sale! Thanks for sharing.

Joe-Thanks for stopping by! Yes, our property taxes are not high, but they always find another way to get you.

Carolyn, I had to call the paramedics because that house took my breath away!  That is one of my favorite styles of architecture, coupled with the manicured entryway, it is a great house!  Hopped over to your site to look at all the pictures.  Looks like a great home and at a price (that by California standards) is a steal!  Out here you could EASILY add another zero to the end of that and have people fighting over it!

I know this house will sell soon!

We keep things on the "down-low" in Delaware. We would have a panic attack at California prices!
