If you're like me, sometimes you don't know when to admit defeat and just stay in bed to nurture a cold or the flu. No one likes being sick and feeling crummy, and I just hate not going to work. I feel like I'm missing out on so much. It's difficult to re-schedule appointments with clients, handle negotiations from my bed, and return calls when I sound like Froggy from the Little Rascals, but I don't want to expose anyone to my plague. Most people are understanding and would much rather find a new time to meet rather than catch the most recent bug.
Okay, so I had to give in today and stay home - a self imposed quarantine to recuperate and rest. In the meantime everyone else gets to go about their business - meeting new clients, showing houses, and writing offers.
Poor me...wait a minute!
If I'm feeling left out and lonely after just one day out of the office, can you imagine what it must be like for people with chronic health issues, an acute illness or long term disease they're struggling with? My goodness, it's so easy to take good health for granted that when we get a hang nail or a cold it's easy to succumb to feeling miserable. If I'm ever down and out for a day or two I always know that it's just a temporary state - however, some people always feel that icky. We just never know the health issues that people have to struggle with, and so many do, day after day.
So every cold, sniffle and flu that I get just makes me grateful for the good health that I have. When I feel good I feel really good, and it's okay to feel under the weather occasionally - after all, it's only temporary.
