What we Love about the area:

Living in Forest Lake has been a great adventure raising our three children. We are moving, but still staying with the Forest Lake area since we love so many things about this community. Forest Lake has the best of both worlds, a small town feel with the conveniences of the Twin Cities a short distance away.

Great things about your town/city?

One of the bonuses of Forest Lake is for commuters: you are just north of the 35 split, which provides convenient access to both Minneapolis and St.Paul, both within 30 minutes. There are also multiple recreational lakes nearby; Forest, Clear, Big Marine, Green, and even White Bear. There are multiple golf courses within the area as well as several gun clubs. Something for everyone.

What great things do you do there?

This particular neighborhood has a strong community of neighbors. The neighborhood has a community FaceBook page that is utilized to promote nearby events and discuss items of importance in our neighborhood. The Officer Shawn Silvera park is a great location to take the kids to play on the playground, play a round of basketball or throw some horseshoes. With the vast natural land around us, the neighborhood is rich with deer, muskrat, fox, and an abundance of bird watching.

There is an eating establishment for everyone within the town of Forest Lake. Some of our favorites are spending weekend nights at Vannelli's on the lake. Aqua is a fun spot to go when you are boating on the lake, just pull the boat up to the dock for a scrumptious lunch. The best Mexican restaurant around, hands down is Don Julio's. When dinner is done head on over to a small but very charming shop right on 61 near Forest Lake, Daniela's who has the best desserts in town.

Another bonus of Forest Lake, we have everything...from Cub, Menards, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Sherwin Williams, etc...if we don't have within town I'm sure there is one close by. If specialty items are needed then Roseville and White Bear Lake are conveniently located. Head north 15 minutes to North Branch for an outlet mall plus Costco and Sam's Club are nearby also. The convenience factor for Forest Lake is unbeatable.

Great things about the Schools:

Our children attend Lakes International Language Academy - one of the best Spanish and Chinese immersion programs in the state. This is one of the main reasons we will not leave this community - the school is simply amazing.

The master bathroom was recently renovated to expand the shower and provide more craftsman touches. The marble counters, subway tile, vintage tile floor was selected to provide a timeless elegance to this house.

Key points about the house that you were drawn to when we first looked at the home:

We custom built the house in 2003. We were drawn to this neighborhood for the conveniences mentioned above. The floor plan was perfect for the two of us at that time, and has worked nicely with us as we have started our family here. We have enjoyed having two living spaces - one upstairs for the adults to relax, with a separate downstairs for our children to enjoy.
