Older notebook hardware is great for a lot of things. You can upgrade the RAM and hard drive capacity, slap on the latest OS and drivers and have a pretty solid and new to you machine that will work for most things. There are limits, however, to what we can expect older devices to do.
No matter how we try and upgrade and streamline certain devices, they will be unable to take advantage of the latest technologies—plus they are susceptible to the failings of most older machines.
This includes dwindling battery life, slowdowns and stalling when loading newer applications or even complex modern websites and pages as well as the lack of support.
