Well, after several years of fighting and changing plans and local land use regs. the state of new Jersey finally gave their CAFRA approval to the first high-rise project in the city of Wildwood . After the recent building and Real Estate boom, the Island was left with many demolished motels that once handled the towns strong convention business. With the coming of the new high-rise properties their are strong hopes to return the Wildwoods as a leading convention destination by being able to provide more of an upscale resort experience. Here is the link to an article in the Press of Atlantic city today about the big story.

David,

Do you expect to see this coming to Ocean City?

My Guess Mike,  They will not go to Ocean City.  That town has a little more to protect and they are not in a situation where they can't really provide for conventioneers. Ocean City really doesn't have the large draw conventions that Wildwood does.
