Last night was a special one at Tanglewood because it was a James Taylor show. I have heard him before but never without the rain. The one constant is a huge and responsive crowd. I think if there was a flood warning or a hail storm the people would still be there. I have seen crowds on the lawn stay in rain so bad you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you. But last night there was no problem, no noise from thunder or wind, just a loyal fan base enjoying their hometown favorite and benefactor.
James Taylor appeared on both July 3rd and July 4th and all proceeds from these concerts was donated to Tanglewood. A wonderfully gifted, funny and dedicated guy made the evening rich just by his mere presence. The music was wonderful and the 25,000 plus people filled every bit of the property. I have never seen such a crowd. Even though I was early and have a designated parking area I was parked far from the venue because people come early to spend the entire day. I was too far to go back for a camera and didn't stop the whole evening. Maybe next year. If you have a chance to see James Taylor in person, go.....it is special.
