ADOPT ME! HAYLEY is only about 7-9 months old. She was found abandoned on the streets. At that time, she looked like she had a very rough life...she looks much better now. She was transferred to us from our friends at the ASSOCIATED HUMANE SOCIETY of NEWARK.
She will need an adopter who has experience training big dogs.
Even though she is a medium-size dog, she is strong and sometimes is a handful because she is jumpy. She has a lot of energy and will need exercise, play and walks.
She loves people and is very excitable and she can be mouthy. Other times, she just wants to curl up and snuggle. She also loves to play fetch with a tennis ball...except she likes to keep it! Haha!
When you are sitting in a chair, she like to wiggle her way up on you.
She has a WIGGLY BUTT and a WAGGING TAIL! And, she is very KISSY and JUMPY because she gets so excited and wants to be near your face.
She is fine on a lead once you get going as long as you use a chain leash and a front clip harness, otherwise she will try to tug and bite at a regular leash, which needs to be discouraged. She does ok with some calm dogs, but is fearful of some other dogs.
- She loves car rides and sometimes falls asleep within 2 or 3 blocks
- She loves laying in the sun while inside the house
- She is afraid of the rain. She does not want to go on walks when it is raining
- She loves her crate. She likes to nap freely in it during the day with the door open
- Hayley likes to sleep with a pillow for her head
- She does NOT get along with cats
