The Villages, Florida is a fabulous 55 and over resort-like golf community in Central Florida. It is the largest 55+ community that I know of and people move here from every state in the US and many other countries in the world.

I am glad to say, as a pet lover, that this 55+ community is also petfriendly. There are many dog parks and people are always walking their dogs. Those who have small dogs often enjoy taking their dogs in strollers and walking them around the town squares.
My 14 year old dog Mikey loves it here. He is so glad to live in a home without stairs to climb!
The Villages is also known for many amazing amenities, among them, 38 executive golf courses and 12 championship golf courses, as well as The Villages Golf Academy.
Because Florida is warm almost all year long and is, after all, The Sunshine State, it is perfect to be in this state if you would like to have endless days of golfing available to you.
The golf courses are picturesque and can be seen everywhere in this active adult community. Drive along Morse Boulevard or Buena Vista Boulevard to see many of these spectacular courses!
Use of any of the 38 executive golf courses is free for residents who walk through the course. For those golfers who prefer to use a golf cart, there is a nominal fee. There is a small charge for residents to play golf on any of the 12 championship (aka Country Club) golf courses. Enjoy the beautiful club houses associated with these golf courses. Have a good meal while enjoying the views.
You can go to Belle Glade, Bonifay, Cane Garden, Evans Prairie, Glenview Champions, Hacienda Hills, Havana, Mallory Hill, Nancy Lopez Legacy, Orange Blosssom Hills, Palmer Legends, and Tierra del Sol country clubs! Every one of these is available to you as a resident of The Villages.
In addition to the majestic golf courses, The Villages provides golf lessons at The Villages Golf Academy and there are practice facilities and practice clinics too. The classes are for residents who are just learning golf, group lessons and private lessons.

What could be more delightful than starting golf early and watching a gorgeous sunrise or finishing your last golf game for the day while being mesmerized by one of Florida’s spectacular sunsets?
Not only can you enjoy your golf carts as you wind your way through the golf courses, but you can also use them to drive over 100 miles of golf cart legal streets that run throughout the villages. Many people use their golf carts as their preferred means of transportation as they travel in The Villages. They find it relaxing.
