As the Owner's Representative on a new estate development, it was decided to install a tent over the building footprint. It's large enough to cover 6,000 square feet. In Vancouver BC we have a lot of rain all the way through to summer, so for safety, labour efficiency, housekeeping an quality control it was determined that the cost of a covered construction site is well worth it. Here's a photo taken last week of the Owners in front of the covered site for their future new home. Naturally it was a perfectly sunny day making the expenditure more of a sunscreen. But Mother Nature is unpedictable!
I'm a firm believer of constant improvement. Sometimes radical measure can produce big payoffs! Even now in our very tight labour market, manpower is not an issue as the novelty of working under cover make us a preferred site.
