Bucks County Holiday Décor Tours and Weekend Events

There is no place like home for the holidays, but these Bucks County houses are open and on display for everyone! If you are looking for something to do on one of the many cold nights ahead of us, grab your boots, coat and gloves and join any of the fantastic holiday-themed house tours and events that only Bucks County has to offer this weekend.

Décor Tours

Aldie Mansion
The Heritage Conservancy will be hosting tours of their lavishly decorated Aldie Mansion for the holidays, just like the original Mercer family used to! Come and see part of Bucks County’s unique heritage at its best. Tours are $12 a person, $10 for senior citizens, and $8 for Heritage Conservancy members. Children 12 and under are free but require adult supervision.

Bolton Mansion
Spend this season at a home away from home! The historic Bolton Mansion’s annual Holiday House authentically decorates each room for the holidays and has activities to be found all throughout the mansion. Featuring a decorated 9-foot tree, musical visitors, baked goods, hearth cooking, hot cider, candy, and make sure to meet Santa in the blue room. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.

Christmas in Fallsington
If you love holiday stories and traditions, this is the tour for you. Standing by the Delaware river, this Village has held its 18th Century character as a place of Quaker living, love and heritage. Historic Fallsington “the village that time forgot” offers guided tours, by reservations Tuesday through Friday on the half hour beginning at 10:30 a.m. Christmas décor will be up beginning December 8th.

Glencairn Museum
Tour the beautiful Glencairn Museum, depicting life for the famous Pitcairn Family throughout the holidays in the 1940’s through the 1970’s. This 45-minute tour gives a glimpse into this lifestyle and the elegant way that the Glencairn castle would have been decorated. The tour has a $12 participation fee and runs 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and 1:00, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. on weekends from November 29, 2019 through January 5, 2020. View a series of 3D World Nativities on display at the end.

Newtown Historic Association

The Annual Open House Tour gives participants an exclusive look inside many private local homes and historic buildings decorated for the holiday season! This historic, yet enchanted walk through the town’s heart includes six private houses and five public buildings, one of them being the beautifully restored 18th century building The Half Moon Inn. Once inside you will enjoy musical entertainment, hearthside colonial cooking demonstrations and refreshments of warm cider and cheese, all included in your ticket. Children under the age of 12 are free. The 55th Annual Open House Tour will be held on December 7, 2019.

Pearl S. Buck House

Visit the home of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck. The national landmark is decked out for the holidays during the 41st Annual Festival of Trees. Hours vary during the period of November 12 through December 30. Other tours, including candlelight and decor, are by reservation only. 

Pennsbury Manor
Nothing says the holidays like crackling fires, cider and carolers! Experience William Penn's 17th century country estate by candlelight. Step back in time and enjoy colonial charm at one of the Holly Night events.

Holiday Trees

Make the Visitor Center your first stop when celebrating the Holidays in Bucks County. Don’t miss Holiday Trees at the Visitor Center, a beautifully decorated display of trees and pick up the exclusive Bucks County Holiday Experience Book on must-see holiday attractions and events!

Gingerbread Competition & Display

The Gingerbread Competition & Display is a feast for the eyes with creative and whimsical entries in several categories: Traditional, Authentic Reproduction, 3-D, Movie or TV Set, Student, Kids Only and more. The Gingerbread entries will be on exhibit in the Village Gazebo during shopping hours.

Santa's Steam Spectacular

Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for a ride upon their magical Steam Train through the historic Bucks County countryside. Sing along with the train’s roaming musicians as they play Christmas carols and you sip hot cocoa! Share your wishes with Santa as he and Mrs. Claus visit with the children. Each child will receive their own sleigh bell gift from Santa himself. Children and adults are encouraged to wear pajamas while settling in for a relaxing ride aboard this festive train!

25th Annual Holiday Light Show

Experience the magic of more than 3 million lights illuminating acres of farmland at Shady Brook Farm’s Holiday Light Show! Encounter whimsical displays and familiar characters as you drive through in the comfort of your own car or enjoy the show on an open-air wagon ride (weather permitting). The two-mile trail takes about 20 minutes to drive through if you’re taking your time to enjoy the sights (on a non-busy night). Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and cook up s’mores at their toasty bonfire!

Verycoollights Christmas Light Show

VeryCoolLights presents their Christmas Light Show! About 20,000 LED lights choreographed to 10 songs at the Catapla Road location, and over 3,000 lights choreographed to 5 songs at the York Road location! This event is always free.

When: Thru January 12, 5 - 10 p.m.

What the Deadly Dickens? Murder Mystery Dinner

It’s another Dickens of a murder! Despite hosting a murderous holiday party last year, which resulted in the murders of Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim, the Sawyers are going to give it another try. They have invited all of their closest friends for their annual holiday party – and are hoping for no mishaps this year. But when an uninvited guest shows up, someone is bound to exclaim, “What the deadly Dickens?”

A Very Furry Christmas

A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place® Philadelphia is a festive, family-friendly celebration with everyone’s favorite Sesame Street® friends. The park is transformed into a one-of-a-kind Christmas wonderland with millions of twinkling lights and festive decorations all around.

Pigskin Peanuts Exhibit

Just in time for football season, Pigskin Peanuts showcases fifty of Charles M. Schulz's daily and Sunday Peanuts comic strips featuring the sport of football and the popular characters Charlie Brown, Woodstock, Snoopy and more. The companion exhibit, Bucks County Plays Football! highlights some of Bucks County’s own football history and traditions and will include historic photographs, video footage, game programs, tickets, sports cards and other artifacts and memorabilia.
