Everyone has heard the phrase a few bad apples spoils the bunch and IMO it is especially true when it comes to all aspects of the real estate process. Having been on both sides of real estate transactions I am very aware that the vast majority of realtors, attorneys, mortgage brokers, and title agents are good people who make a concerted effort to provide excellent service. The problem is the minority who give everyone else a bad name.
I am sure everyone has heard, or even experienced, horror stories about unethical, rude, or arrogant brokers, realtors, title agents, etc. And while these types are the minority they get the most attention from the public at large. This is because negativity sells and people who feel they have been wronged are more willing to let everyone know about it. That is why I feel it is important for real estate professionals and their clients to talk about the good experiences and positive outcomes as well as working to rid the industry of the bad players. While it is important to discuss unethical behavior and let the world know that the majority of the industry is against these practices it is equally important to talk about the good things being done by most professionals and put a good face on the industry.
We have seen plenty of negative stories about the industry here and other places but I would like to see a discussion about the good people and experiences in the industry. Please feel free to add your experience and let the world know that most real estate professionals are good people and truly take joy in helping their customers achieve their dream of home ownership.
