When your nephew is in the starting rotation for the New York Yankees!
I received a nice complimentary AR e-mail today that ended from "Does you son play baseball."
No son, but Yankee Pitcher, Daryl Rasner is my nephew, and we're all very proud of him. He worked long and hard to achieve his dream and we wish him the best!
Terry, that is awesome. Thanks for sharing that with us. It takes a lot of hard work and skill, probably more than I can even begin to fathom to make it to that point. That is so great for him. I really hope that you and Hugh get to watch a game together soon.

Hi Sondra -- glad you asked. I love (as does Dr. John) fishing and hiking. I've always loved fishing, and hiking replaces my passionate interest in softball and skiing. As I've "matured" I tend to enjoy the less competitive sports (did you know my hubby has written several books on skiing that have been translated into Russian, French, and Japanese). One year he was an assistant coach for the U.S. Ski Team at Winter Training Camp in Colorado. Yes, he is still an avid skier and "friendly competitor." God bless you!

Hi Sondra -- you're sweet. Most importantly, I am the freshwater fisherwoman in our family, and I really got John into it. He grew up fishing off the surf in Southern California. And yes, my Dr. John loves to ski and snowboard (and he's generous with his time in helping others to learn -- hint hint)! God bless you!
That is awesome! My cousin is currently in the Dodgers farm system and dreams of the big leagues... it's quite the accomplishment to have reached the pinnacle of this sport- I'm so happy for him (and yes, that's a *good* brag... your publicising is a-ok in my book.)
