High Bridge State Park

This beautiful rails to trails state park starts in Nottoway County and winds about 31 miles through Prince Edward County and Cumberland Counties providing outdoor recreation to many locals in South Central Virginia. The main draw is the majestic High Bridge, which is more than 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River. The High Bridge Trail is open to hikers, bikes, and horses. There are seven parking lots along the trail at this time.
My favorite parking area is the municipal lot in Farmville where you have just a short walk to Charlie's on the Waterfront Restaurant or our local diner for a great country breakfast or lunch.
