Sometimes you need a change of scenery, but don't have a ton of time or money for a huge overhaul. The good news is you can make a big splash with relatively little of either. Read on for a few ideas to get those creative juices flowing.
Add an Area Rug
An area rug can help elevate a room in just minutes. When shopping for an area rug, there are several things to consider including size, shape, and material. Bring room dimensions and some reference pictures of the room when you go shopping.
Build Picture Ledges
For an art arrangement that doesn't involve a lot of planning, turn to DIY photo ledges. This inexpensive project makes it super easy to change out photos and art when the mood strikes. Leave the ledges secured to the wall, and easily swap the pictures.
Wallpaper (yes, wallpaper!)
Wallpaper is making a comeback but use it sparingly. Accent walls and smaller rooms like bathrooms or offices are a great place to showcase your style and take some design risks. Removable (peel and stick) wallpaper is easy to apply without the need for paste and can be removed quickly when you're ready for a new look.
Install a Wood Accent Wall
For a modern twist on a wood accent wall, install large plywood panels on your wall. You can play with the plywood panel sizes to customize the look you want. Or if you like the rustic look, grab some wood pallets, or go shopping for reclaimed barn wood. Let the wood grain do the talking - no paint needed!
