Stepping Out - Calgary Tower

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

I have never considered myself afraid of heights...yet it did take an extra mental push to step out onto the glass.

While in Calgary Alberta Canada I made a point to visit the Calgary Tower.  Thousands step onto the glass monthly, yet it is a unique experience for each person taking that step.

The skies had fortunately cleared a bit so beautiful views all the way around.  As with most structures of any substance some interesting history comes with the Calgary Tower.

If ever in Calgary I suggest visiting the Tower and enjoying the views, no matter your decision on the 'glass'.

Endre, I have actually jumped.  Cocky young buck and the rep spotted it and sent me out on the wing first.  This still was all great, until I let go.  lol  They said the plane would slowly drift away and I would count to 3 and pull the chute.  They damn well lied about the plane drifting away.  Then after 1000 -1 I could count no longer.  Figured I had stuttered in my head long enough and pulled.  Once the chute opened I was 'cool' again.  Never told anybody I was scared beyond being able to count to 3.  LMAO.  Humbleness can come in big doses.  m

Standing in that spot pictured would make me a little nervous, I think.  Still, it's a stunning view.

Hi Mark... great pictures. I love heights. And having been raised in New York City, I adore being up high in a building. Fondly remember dining often at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center before 9/11. My husband had amazing views from his office in the GM building down Fifth Avenue and Central Park when he was CEO of a consortium bank in the 1990's. Funnily enough, he's afraid of heights, but had no problem being on the 45th floor with two sides of windows.

Hello Mark - I enjoy a good view but I am not comfortable with heights.  Perhaps it's perspective.

That's a great photo, Mark, but not sure I would step out there. Just looking through the window is more than enough for me.

So Nancy Pav you took the time to read the whole post.  Impressive.  And I see a belated welcome to AR is in order.  You have made it thru the seeming never moving first 100,000 points and move faster afterwards.  While we are not in here for the points one can not help but watch...lol.  Looking forward to what you have to say.  A 'follow' directly after sending this.  Thank you for stopping by.  Mark

Good morning Mark. As I grow oder y fear of heights is increasing. That said, I could easily step out on the glass in this situation.  Not so good with high roofs out in the open. Enjoy your day.
