Any possibility of a dog park being established in South Prairie area?  What does it take to establish one?

Pam, I am not sure of the process for establishing a dog park. I would consider contacting Kristi Evans of Metro Parks for suggestions. I bet she can get you on the right track. The more parks we can get in our communities the better. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any further help.

I moved back down to the Tacoma area with my little Yorkie and I am so sad that we only have one small dog park option down here.  Actually I'm shocked!  You can find dog parks for all sizes everywhere in the Bellevue, Seattle area.  Why are there not more options down south?  My Yorkie needs to excercise & socialization. Hopefully the other 3 projects are funded and happen.  Is there a way to donate toward these?

In response to Pam Knight, there is a Bonney Lake Dog Park group that meets once a month at the Bonney Lake Library.  The next meeting will be Feb. 24, Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. for anyone interested in joining our cause.  We are in the process of finding suitable property and in finding sponsors to donate fencing, dollars, etc. in exchange for advertising. You can make comments or ask questions at BonneyLakeDogPark@GoogleGroups.com.  Please come and join us!

The Bonney Lake Dog Park is up and running. We opened late August and haven't even had the formal ceremony. Was oever with my two and noted the trails were getting beaten down so there are users.

As for getting a park going we took a year from the first discussion to opening. The AKC website had an excellant 'how to" ;list that we followed.
